St. Patrick's day is a national holiday that is coming up and many people have different views on this holiday. Some people don't like it at all/don't celebrate it at all. And some people love the holiday and go all out. A couple of people were interviewed on St. Patrick's day and they all had different answers. Jacob Evans (12th grade) was asked how do you celebrate St. Patrick's day and his response was: “usually by wearing some green, not heavily celebrated for me.” Most people celebrate St. Patrick's day by wearing some sort of green. Most people wear green to stay away from people saying that the leprechaun will pinch them. Brooke Rhoades (12th grade) was asked what do you dislike about St. Patrick's day and her response was “The pinching really weirds me out and invaded my privacy”. For some people, it freaks them out when they think of the idea that a short red-headed leprechaun is going to pinch you because you didn't wear green. Some people think that it's how you look at it he could be a creepy short red-headed leprechaun or he could be a tiny and cute leprechaun who has a pot of gold at the end of his rainbow. Maddie Roberts (12th grade) was asked what do you enjoy about St. Patrick’s day and her response was: “Shamrock shakes”. A lot of people enjoy getting shamrock shakes when it's near St. Patrick’s day. It's a refreshing green shake that a lot of people look forward to. Some people even make their own shakes because they can't wait for them to come out. However, Rhoades (12th grade) was also asked what do you enjoy about St. Patrick’s day and her response was: “It was more fun when I was little because we would hunt for leprechauns and now that I’m older I don’t enjoy it anymore”. Most people enjoy this holiday more when they're younger because most teachers wreck their classrooms to make the students think the leprechaun got in and wrecked the classroom. The teachers would throw green and gold glitter all over the room, they would flip chairs and desks. They would write all over the chalkboard and leave toilet paper all over the classroom. When you are in elementary school this is exciting to see that the “Leprechaun” has come to wreck your classroom. Many people feel that when you get older it isn't as fun anymore because you start to believe that the Leprechaun isn't real. However, this holiday is a great holiday to get your green on and have fun with your family and friends.
