Kicking it in the Cold

In the winter, people tend to get lost in what activities to do. The small town of Bloomsburg already does not have much going on in the summer, now in the winter that could mean even less. We have to make our own fun. Dom Rosini and Mr. Lewis give an insight into what their winter months consist of. Rosini stays motivated in the winter by waking up on time. “When I don’t wear my beanie, it means I woke up on time,” he says. If Rosini is not outside “going on walks, playing with my dogs, or sledding when it snows,” he says, “I will be painting and listening to music to pass some time. On a snow day, I sleep in, make breakfast, and shovel the driveway. I might play in the snow with Penelope, then come inside and chill in my room.” Rosini prefers warm weather. “I can swim, surf when I am at the beach, and skimboard, he says. “My least favorite activity in the winter is shoveling snow,” Rosini says. He and Mr. Lewis have that in common. Mr. Lewis most favorite activity since high school has been skiing. Throughout the winter, “I try to stay active through exercise and winter activities. Even though it is cold, I feel it's important to get outside with fresh air and sunlight!” Lewis says. He spends lots of time inside watching movies and TV, but if it is nice out, Lewis shares “I would love to be outside. I am an avid runner so even during the winter months, I will spend time outdoors running and if I get a chance, skiing once I get some chores done and shovel the driveway.” Mr. Lewis is the advisor for the Bloomsburg Ski Club. At the end of the day, he would enjoy a cup of hot cocoa.
