National Humor Month

April starts off with fooling people. Though we can put together April is National Humor Month. April Fools Day can remind us to be more light-hearted and to spread laughter and joy. Not everything has to be serious and stressful. Jassan Hall and Anshita Nandal, both seniors give their take. Nandal confidently starts by stating, “I don't realize how much humor I use every day until I think about it because I am naturally funny, but I always try to joke around to lighten the mood.” Nandal was not able to pull any April Fool's pranks, but Hall had a different experience. “ I played a fake blood prank on my mom. I told her I fell down the hill and hit my head. I put fake blood all over my face. I went into the house and went to my mom. She looked at me and said, Oh my gosh, Jassan, what happened! I couldn’t keep a straight face. I was fake crying and laughing at the same time. Once she saw me laugh it was over she knew it was a joke.” Pranks can get very dark sometimes, as we can see from Hall. Both seniors say that even as getting older, they still love to joke around and laugh with the ones close to them. “Being serious all the time is lame!” Nandal exclaims. Hall and Nandal both love some dad jokes. Hall’s favorite is “A good one is I don't trust those trees. They seem kind of shady.” Hall says his favorite comedian is Martin Lawrence, while Nandal is aware it is herself. “I was born funny, I am a natural, I am blessed, ” she says. Senior pranks at our school are in the handbook not to be done, yet Hall and Nandal, along with other seniors, believe a non-dangerous and non-damaging one would be enjoyable for the whole school. “It is something memorable, legendary, and a way to celebrate our last time all together in high school,” Hall and Nandal proclaim.
