The 2023 year brings excitement with new movies emerging. Maci Stackhouse (11) and Max Decker (12) give their reflection. Stackhouse says "My favorite movies to watch are scary movies with my friends. It is funny to see their reactions. The best movie-watching spot is my basement because it is really dark and quiet down there." Stackhouse is excited to see Scream VI and Creed 3. She enjoys the movie theatre experience, with a slushie and M&M's or Snowcaps to snack on. "In the past few years, I have seen The Menu, Jumianji, and Little Women in the theatre, which are all some of my favorite films," she says. Stackhouse and Decker both have movies they wasted their money on seeing. Stackhouse says Toy Story 4 and Decker says Avatar 2, which could be a controversial statement to many. Decker states "Oppenheimer, Creed 3, the Mario movie, and Peter Pan and Wendy are all movies he cares about coming out. Definitely excited about Oppenheimer and absolutely The Super Mario Bros Movie. Those are the only movies I will be watching in the school year." The best movie Decker has seen in the theatre was Ford vs Ferarri. He has not been in a bit but does enjoy the movie theatre experience with some popcorn. "I wait and see what the reviews look like and what people say. With the way media is now, I can easily wait to watch them for free in the house, if they are worth seeing on a big screen after hearing opinions on them then I will decide on spending money in the theatre," he says. The 1999 film, "The Office Space," Decker concludes "is one movie I still think about to this day. It is a very funny movie, so lots of my humor feeds from that movie."
