Season rivalry in BHS

The winter season brings delight to many people around the world who can’t stand the heat and sweat all day. Winter is fun for many children who get to go out and play in the snow and build snowmen, make snow angels and, more favorable, have snowball fights. Winter also contains one of the most favorite holidays in the United States, christmas. New year's resolutions are made during this time which brings a sense of hopefulness and achievement all throughout the winter times. Although this season has a lot of great attributes, there is still debate whether it is better than summer. In summer, teens do not have to worry about getting up early in the morning, instead they can lay down and sleep all they want. They have the freedom to go out with their friends to nice areas like the park, pool, or even the beach. Beaches are worldwide liked because of how beautiful they are and how relaxing they can be. And just like how kids can make snowmen in the snow, they can also make sand castles in the sand. Interviewees from Bloomsburg Area High School believe that winter is good if you get tired of the heat and if you plan on staying in all summer break. BHS students are the athletic type and want to get outdoors, during the winter you are limited to what you can do, like skiing or snowboarding. Whilst interviewing BHS students on what season they favor and why, some said they like the in between seasons, autumn/fall and spring. Autumn and spring are answers that were chosen because they couldn’t determine whether they liked winter or summer better. Spring provides plants with the rain and sun they need to grow, provide nutrients and an “amazing” aesthetic. Autumn when the tree leaves change colors and fall so that kids could jump into the leaves and get lost in them. Sweater weather also creeps upon and kids don’t need to wear a coat and also don’t need to wear shorts and a tank top. Students in BHS are also thankful for the 4 seasons and prefer the change rather than sticking to only one.
