The best compelling ability of engagement anxiety and suspense

It is October, you know what that means, pumpkin spice and horror movies. We would like to see what type of movie is the most exhilarating and popular horror movie. It is important to look at other people's opinions so others can see them and get more ideas on what to watch.  We asked our students and one teacher here at BHS some questions regarding what type of horror movie really gets them going in the holiday spirit, or if they even enjoy horror movies at all.  Some may enjoy the fear aspect or maybe even the suspense or anxiety, maybe even just the character development throughout the movie. We have asked two students, sophomores, Ben Chyko and Jocelyn Savage, and one of our teachers, Mr. Marmo, how they feel about horror movies. Ben Chyko responds with, “Yes I do find horror movies enjoyable, I mostly watch ones that somewhat have a comedic side to it. I don't enjoy those types of movies with jump scares, they're not my taste, they're kind of boring, not going to lie. And I don't get nightmares from horror movies, some just aren't that scary, or when they are scary they just aren't good. "So as you can see Ben is not so much of a horror movie fan, but he does enjoy watching some Halloween movies, but only if they aren't boring. However Joslyn disagrees, she says, “I very much enjoy watching horror movies with friends and family, I thoroughly enjoy slasher films, they are scary and I like the thrill I get from them. And Borrow movies are the only right movies to watch during October.” So there are some very different views on horror movies, some may say they are the best thing ever to come out. We had asked one of our Administrators Mr. Marmo and this is what he had to say. “My favorite horror movie to watch is one where it's mostly comedic with some jump scares but not a lot. I mostly watch very old horror movies that came out in the 90s or so. I feel like people should watch more of the old type of horror movies because they are a lot funnier and you don't get tired of them too.” You can see that he prefers to watch old classic horror movies rather than the new ones that have come out.  With all of our viewers here, there's one similarity, that is that they all have different tastes. And with the information that we have gotten you see many people all choose different things and choose what mostly pleases them.  There are many different forms of genres of horror movies that one may enjoy. In all, horror movies continue to evolve and remain a powerful form of entertainment in this holiday and will continue to evoke and captivate any audience involved. It is October, you know what that means, pumpkin spice and horror movies.
